We started Clos Lines in 2003 trying to make all occasion cards. Since than, our main sales have grown into supplying 14k gold, 18kgold, 24kgold, Rhodium (a deritive of Platinum) and .925 Sterling Silver.
~What is PermaGold and PermaSilver?~
Permagold/Silver is Olympia Golds exclusive crystal clear coating that is plated over our gold and silver plated jewelry and then baked an an oven at 400 degrees, to create a protective shield. Permagold protects jewelry while adding a beautiful shine and luster.
~What is 24K Gold?~
Because of the softness of pure (24K) Gold, it is usually alloyed with base metals for use in jewelry, altering its hardness and ductiflity, melting point, color and other properties. Alloys with lower "k", typically, 22k, 18k, 14k or 10k, contain higher percentages of copper, silver or other base metals in the alloy.
~What is Silver?~
.925 Sterling Silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper.
Fine silver (99.9% pure) is generally too soft for producing large functional objects, and in Sterling Silver, the silver is usually alloyed with copper to give strength whilst preserving the malleability of the silver and a high precious metal content - ideal for making silver jewelry.
~What is Rhodium?~
Rhodium (pronounced /ˈroʊdiəm/) is a chemical element in the periodic table that has the symbol Rh and atomic number 45. A rare silvery-white hard transition metal and a member of the platinum group, rhodium is found in platinum ores and is used in alloys with platinum and as a catalyst. It is the most expensive precious metal.
~What is Topaz?~
Blue Topaz is often transparent but can possess a uniform light blue color. It is beneficial in helping to promote sleep and to cool one’s temper. Blue topaz can also help to improve one’s financial assets and provide stability monetarily. It is the anniversary gemstone for the 4th year of marriage.
